What the world needs now: Protest Song Therapy

I don’t do massages or counseling. BUT, I’m offering “Protest Song Therapy”, a musical march combining songs of resistance I’ve written with classics you likely know by Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, etc. To recreate that coffeehouse vibe that spawned the Golden Era of protest music, I’m accompanied on acoustic six string, as well as my 45-year-old Guild 12-string. This is a clip from my debut performance of the show at Wild Hog in the Woods Coffeehouse in Madison, WI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTMiqAc65_c
Even when we think there’s little we can do to change things, it’s cathartic to sing about it. Like the original purpose of the blues, somehow it makes us feel better. I’m hoping this show can lower the rate of divorces and disownings, Facebook unfriendings, broken jaws and rage rampages. If you’re local and want me to bring the show to you (or are willing to pay my travel expenses out of the area), drop me a note and let’s see what we can do. Don’t get mad, get singing!
